August Issue 2001
Gallery 9 in Foscoe, NC, Features New Works of Wayne Trapp
Gallery 9 in Foscoe, NC, is presenting an exhibition
entitled, New Works, by Wayne Trapp, which will be on view through
the month of Aug.
Trapp is one of the South's leading contemporary artists. He has
created and exhibited works of art for over three decades. His
works can be found in many corporate and private collections throughout
the United States and Europe.
Trapp has studied at Ohio State University, The Pratt Institute,
and the Institute of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well
as studying calligraphy in Japan. His skill in calligraphy shows
evident in his brush drawings. For Trapp, the dance of life and
making art are one in the same. His art is a melding of materials
into shape and form, which evoke a sense of magic and delight.
As a painter, Trapp explores a personal vision. His Abstract Expressionist
paintings are a result of a passionate approach to art. Most often
inspired by music, Trapp's studio thunders with the sounds of
jazz and classical.
This exhibit will showcase Trapp's variety of interest and skill.
The gallery will hold Trapp's new oil paintings, stone sculptures,
sculptural fountains and his original brush drawings. More work
is available to be seen at his studio located in the Blue Ridge
Mountains of Vilas, NC.
