Hidell Brooks Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Shows Works by Diane Bywaters
Hidell Brooks Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is pleased to announce their third solo exhibition for Diane Bywaters. For this current show, Bywaters traveled to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the the marshes along the coast where she has captured the poetic mystery of our diverse scenery. All work in this exhibition are oil on wood panel. The exhibit will be on view through Sept. 1, 2001.
Diane Canfield Bywaters, born in Kansas City in 1957, has lived in various locations in the Midwest throughout her life. A professor of art at the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point, Bywaters has painted extensively throughout the United States, France, England and Italy. Bywaters has developed a passion for en plein air painting. This painting approach to the genre of landscapes comes from a French term meaning out-of-doors and refers to the painter who chooses to paint in nature rather than in the studio. Bywaters says, "Though my work is representative, I am not seeking merely to supply a precise descriptive rendering of the objects before me, rather I hope to interpret those objects by means of form and color, so to enrich the experience of the viewer".
