New Gallery Opens in Wilmington, NC
Gallery Mia Tyson, Wilmington, NC's, newest art exhibition space, will open to the public Aug. 1, 2001.
The gallery will feature all mediums, including paintings, sculpture, clothing, and jewelry. Also displayed will be the ceramics creations of resident artist and owner Mia Tyson.
A unique feature of Gallery Mia Tyson is Tyson's studio, which is visible inside the gallery behind glass windows, allowing gallery patrons to view the distinctive process of Tyson's porcelain sgraffito works. The gallery also plans to develop artist studios in the gallery's lower level.
Owner Mia Tyson's contemporary ceramic art is displayed in exhibitions and sold in galleries nationally and internationally, and featured in several art and ceramic publications, including New Art International. Tyson has traveled worldwide to feature her works in wholesale and retail shows. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in interior design and also earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Winthrop University in 1996.
