Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Exhibits by Enrico Embroli & Thomas Buechner
Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is pleased to introduce Enrico Embroli. With the use of heavy textures and manipulated surfaces, Embroli expresses his love for sculpture in his abstract paintings. Along with the Embroli exhibit, Jerald Melberg Gallery is also delighted to announce its third solo exhibition for Thomas Buechner. Ordinary, if sometimes curious, subjects are transformed into the extraordinary in Buechner's brilliantly rendered still life paintings. Both exhibitions will be on view through Sept. 7, 2002.
Enrico Embroli creates a sense of depth by layering various media, such as resin, pumice, oil paint and varnish, on canvas. The resulting work invites the viewer to stop and explore its complex surface and compelling composition.
A native of Batavia, NY, Embroli received a Masters of Art Education and a Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York at Buffalo. He has been honored with over fifty solo exhibitions since the beginning of his career as an artist in the late 1970s. Embroli's work can be found in many major corporate collections from coast to coast.
A native New Yorker, Thomas Buechner has enjoyed a long and varied career as both artist and administrator. Buechner has had over forty solo exhibitions, and his works can be found in such prestigious collections as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Museum of American Art. His appointments have included being the founding director of the Corning Museum of Glass and the director of the Brooklyn Museum.
