Fancy ladies, fish, Lowcountry landscapes, and more! The oil paintings of Anne Thames will be featured at the Spencer Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, from Aug. 1 until Sept. 30, 2002.
"Anne is a native South Carolinian who had been painting for many years. She has the unique ability to successfully paint using diverse styles. Her subject matter and excellent design distinguish her work and make her work treasured acquisitions of her clients," says Jerry Spencer, gallery owner. "Anne describes her work as 'Stylistic Interpretative Art', a style she has developed through being strongly influenced by impressionistic art and her strong love of color. Her strong sense of design make her work appealing to a great many people."
Thames studied art in California where she lived for thirty years before returning to the Lowcountry. Her work is currently shown frequently in exhibits. Although her primary medium is oils, she also works in other media.
The Spencer Art Gallery continues its tradition of showing exciting artists with this special exhibit of works by Anne Thames.
