Wilkes Quilts- 2002! on View in North Wilkesboro, NC
Wilkes County Quilter's Guild will present Wilkes Quilts 2002!. The second annual quilt show to be held September 6 & 7 from 10am-5pm at Benton Hall Gym, 306 D Street, North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. The purpose is to showcase quilts and quilted items made by the members of the guild and features two trunk shows from Senior Center quilters and the ECA group. A highlight of the show is a display of 15 challenge winners from Keepsake Quilting and a vendors mall.
Also featured this year along with a boutique of quilted items for sale made by members of the guild, and quilting pins, will be two donation quilts and two toss pillows with a North Carolina theme. The blocks were made by each member of the quilt guild and reflect an aspect of North Carolina; for example, there are blocks of a lighthouse, a mountain, a cardinal, a dogwood flower, a tree farm, an apple farm, a tobacco leaf, a North Carolina flag, a moonshine still, and a "Pardon Tom Dooley" block and more. The vendors mall will have for sale sewing machines, fabric, books, kits, and notions.
Admission is free. Donation tickets will be
available for a chance to win one of two donation quilts and two
pillows made by guild members. The proceeds from these tickets
will be used to fund future community service projects and workshops.
