The Center for Craft, Creativity and Design in Hendersonville, NC, Features Potters & Weavers
The Center for Craft, Creativity and Design
in Hendersonville, NC, presents Blue Ridge Potters and Weavers,
an exhibition of Bakersville Potters and the Buffalo Creek Weavers
from West Jefferson, NC, on view through Sept. 26. There are eleven
potters from Bakersville, NC, participating in the exhibition
including: Melissa Cadell, Joe Comeau , Terry Gess, Yvonne Hegney,
Thom Kittredge, Shane Mickey, Mark Peters, Dianne Sutherland,
Lisa Stinson, Will Ruggles, and Douglass Rankin. Mike Harman of
Buffalo Creek Weavers is a sixth generation weaver.
There will be two Tea Time Talks in conjunction with this exhibition.
Betty Hurst, foundation director of HandMade in America, will
be here Aug. 5 to discuss the new third edition of The Craft
Heritage Trails of Western North Carolina. Many of the artists
in the show are featured in the book. On Sept. 2 several artists
from the exhibition will give presentations about their work.
Tea Time Talks occur on Tues. at 4pm.
