Charleston Co. Public Library in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Veronique Aniel
The Charleston County Public Library in Charleston,
SC, is presenting the exhibit, Return to the Source, featuring
works by Veronique Aniel. The artist will share her work throughout
the month of Aug., 2004, in the Saul Alexander Gallery, located
on the first floor of the downtown Main Library Branch.
Drawing and painting have been part of Aniel's life since childhood
when she would tag along with her father who would paint "en
plein-air" in the French countryside. "There have been
times when other things had to become priorities in my life, but
the desire and drive to work with colors and shapes has never
left me," states Aniel.
The pieces selected in Return to the Source, are from work
done during the past year. As the year progressed, Aniel noticed
changes in the images with increased emphasis on texture and more
abstract images. "I am excited about these changes as they
indicate that growth is taking place."
Aniel's works have appeared in many exhibits, including the College
of Charleston Juried Exhibit, Nancy's Gallery group exhibit, Alumni
Show at the College of Charleston, Dock Street Theater, Spartanburg
Arts Center group show, and many more.
