The Arts Palette in Tryon, NC, Offers Works by Rachel Berlinger

The Arts Palette, an affiliate of the Tryon Fine Arts Center in Tryon, NC, will present an exhibition of works by Rachel Berlinger from Aug. 12 through Sept. 2, 2006.

In a truly dedicated pursuit of her craft, Berlinger has avidly studied art over the last fifteen years. Her first courses were taken at a local community college in Illinois after which she moved on to studio-based classes. She then participated in ArtStudy Giverny, France, Monet's celebrated home.

Throughout her various classes and workshops, Berlinger has studied with a wide range of very talented people, such as Romel de la Torre, Ramon Kelly, Scott Burdick, Kenn Backus and others, each of whom have contributed to the development of her own style. By her own admission, it was while in Giverny, France that "something happened - I got it - it all came together for me."

For the most part, Berlinger has exhibited in various venues in Illinois. Her work has been juried into the national Women's Works show in Woodstock, Illinois. She has received an Award of Excellence from the Oil Painters of America.

According to Berlinger, "I seek the light; I seek the mood, and I seek an atmosphere in which the viewer can look into my paintings and feel a connection with the subject I have portrayed."
