Beet Contemporary in Charlotte, NC,
Offers Works by Andrea Brown
Beet Contemporary Craft & Functional Art in Charlotte, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Quilt, featuring the mixed media works of Charlotte artist Andrea Brown, on view from Aug. 1 - 31, 2008.
The multi media paintings which vary from paper wall sculptures to acrylic on wood, encompass individual spatial experiments. Abstraction of minimal line and bold coloring give their fundamental roots body and energy. Yet each nondescript work has various references to nature's forces and the duality between psychological chaos and tranquility.
Brown was born and raised in Asheville, NC, received her BFA with honors in photography from Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia, and has recently relocated to Charlotte. She has exhibited widely through Georgia and most recently in Charlotte with shows at The Light Factory, Hodges Taylor Gallery, and Area Fifteen.
