Artworks Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, Features Two-Person Collaborative Exhibit
Artworks Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, is presenting a two-person collaborative exhibit of drawings by E.0. Hill and sculpture and drawings by Mitzi Shewmake from Sept. 5 through Oct. 7.
Hill is showing graphite and turpentine wash drawings of cropped views of a house, with implied narratives, sometimes ominous, involving snakes, a hand with a gun, a rat, crow, and human head that are hung within a free-standing wall in collaboration with sculpture by Shewmake as part of the wall.
Mitzi Shewmake is showing figurative sculpture lying on the floor and around the doorway of the wall, as well as a 4' x 8' relief as a gateway in collaboration with Hill. In addition, Shewmake is showing a series of pencil drawings of famous women, namely Deidre, Aspe in the Cloud of Love, Danae and the Dove and the Gold, Pandora, and Woman for all Seasons.
