Charlotte Art League in Charlotte, NC, Offers Exhibit on Prints

The Charlotte Art League along with Speedball Art Products is pleased to start its new season with an exhibition on a rarely explored medium, hand pulled prints. The show will feature monotypes woodcuts, etchings, and other original prints and will be on display in The Charlotte Art League Gallery in Charlotte, NC, from Sept. 1 through Oct. 13.

The artwork to be on display was created by artists' from throughout the Charlotte region. Approximately 20 artists will be participating in the exhibition.

Although print making has been around as an art form for centuries, it is a very misunderstood medium. "When you say prints, most people think posters" says artist Joan Thomson, "and with these type prints each is an original work of art in itself.

So if you have ever received an offer to "come up and see my etchings," here is a chance to see how they are created.
