College of Charleston's Halsey Gallery Hosts Recent Alumni Exhibition
The William Halsey Gallery at the College of Charleston's School of the Arts in Charleston, SC, is hosting an exhibition entitiled Fresh Work featuring recent College of Charleston alumni John Sarra, Jason Rucker, and Joseph Burwell. The exhibit will be on view through Sept. 30.
Sarra received his BA (Studio Art) from the College of Charleston in 1994 and his MFA (Painting) from Washington University in 1997. Recent exhibits include (space) between us (Forest Part Gallery), Landscape (Desmond E. Lee Gallery), and New Faces (Elliot Smith Contemporary Art). currently living in St. Louis, Missouri, Sarra teaches painting at Washington University.
Rucker graduated form the College of Charleston in 1995 and received his MFA (Painting) from Yale in 1998. He currently lives and works in Philadelphia, PA.
Burwell received his BA from the College of Charleston in 1993 and his MFA from Tulane University in 1999. Recent exhibits include Intuitive Hygiene (Tulane), and notes for the Blister Package (New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center). Burwell lives in Brooklyn, NY.
