Lights From The Sky - Alan Dale Botifoll at Semans Gallery
Lights From The Sky is the title of an exhibit of paintings by Durham artist, Alan Dale Botifoll that will hang in the Semans Gallery of the Durham Arts Council Building in Durham, NC, from Sept. 21 through Oct. 23.
The theme for this exhibit of paintings is science fiction. Botifoll sees the sci-fi novels and movies of the twentieth century to be a great subject matter for his paintings due to the limitless range of ideas and concepts. His approach to painting is unplanned, spontaneous, and "automatic". His work seeks to go beyond established styles and concepts from the past and present.
Botifoll currently resides in Durham. He is a self-taught artist who has worked in painting and sculpture, and is a member of Trace Gallery in Raleigh.
