Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Sara Le Van

Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, will have as its Artist-of-the-Mouth for September Black Mountain watercolor artist Sara Le Van showing her works in an exhibit entitled Wild Ones.

Le Van's brilliant paintings are enjoyed in numerous private and corporate collections, and have won awards in numerous juried exhibitions across the Southeast. Her impressionistic painting emphasizes strong composition and careful choice of color to enhance each motif. She approaches her chosen subject with a distinguishing mark of optimism.

"Painting is a fundamental expression of my life force," Le Vans says. "I prefer watercolor, gouache and caran d'ache because of their immediacy. I employ line and calligraphic brush work in my paintings. I strive to unify details and maintain focus through design and color. Character studies of landscapes, flowers in their natural surroundings and people are my major motifs."
