September Issue 2001
Winthrop University in Rock Hill, NC, Features Works by Chris Sullivan
Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, is presenting the installation and exhibition, Let Goof The Work: Language and Photography by Chris Sullivan, which will be on view from Sept. 10 through Oct. 28, in the Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery.
Drawing upon the urban landscape, artist Chris
Sullivan chronicles the pedestrian life of San Francisco. Through
what he refers to as "Language Photography," Sullivan
attempts to preserve the "lost feelings" of his
environment. Sullivan will be on the Winthrop campus beginning
Sept. 4 to install his exhibition in the Patrick Gallery. He
will also present a lecture during a preview of the exhibition
on Sept. 9, at 3pm in Rutledge Auditorium.
The Sept. 9 preview and lecture is the first in a series of Sunday afternoon events designed to make gallery programs more accessible for the public at large. Portraits et Personnages: Selected Works from the Collection de l'Art Brut's Neuve Invention also continues to be through Oct. 28 in the Rutledge Gallery.
