Bob Jones Museum & Gallery in Greenville, SC, Presents Exhibit of the Collection of Dawn Evers
Visit the Bob Jones University Museum & Gallery in Greenville, SC, and experience Behind Closed Doors: Victorian Vignettes from the private collection of Charleston art expert Dawn Evers. The exhibit will be on view through Jan. 5, 2003.
This exceptional exhibition features hundreds of 19th century treasures. Five Victorian room vignettes create the context for displaying Evers' extensive collection of furniture, china portrait miniatures, fashion accessories, and jewelry. These objects and their settings provide the key to a Victorian's public and private world. Through such treasures we discover how families lived their daily lives, mourned their loved ones, and celebrated special events.
Even if you have toured the Gallery before, you won't want to miss this special exhibition. Private guided tours for groups of 10 to 25 people will be offered. We are expecting the tour schedule to book up quickly, so make your group reservations today to ensure that the date of your choice is available. Following the exhibition tour, your group is invited to stroll through the galleries and enjoy our permanent collection of Old Master paintings.
Students will experience Victorian life first-hand
through hands-on activities in our
Children's Corner. Each school-age child will receive a complimentary
Victorian Exhibition Guide with related activities; teachers can
visit our website for correlated activities to do with their class
before and after they visit the exhibition.
