Caldwell Arts Council in Lenoir, NC, Presents 17th Annual Sculpture Celebration Exhibit
Enjoy the early fall with a day of music and sculpture. The 17th Annual Sculpture Celebration will take place Sept. 7, 2002 at the JE Broyhill Park in Lenoir, NC, between Hickory and Boone, NC.
The Sculpture Celebration attracts sculptors
from across the country. These artists gather in Lenoir to compete
for over $16,000 in merit awards and purchase awards and a one
time $25,000 commission. The sculpture runs the gamut of styles
from traditional, classical bronze pieces to contemporary metal
and wood pieces. The sculpture includes indoor and outdoor works.
The artists will be present on the day of the show and most pieces
are available for purchase or commissions.
The Sculpture Celebration is held in the beautiful JE Broyhill
Park in downtown Lenoir. This park encompasses 9 acres of rolling
hills and heavily canopied trees. Throughout the day the park
will be filled with fine artwork, and the air will be filled with
the sound of music. 100 sculptors and close to 200 pieces of sculptures
are expected to be at the park during the celebration. Musicians
will be performing throughout the day, hands on art activities
will be available, and food vendors will be on the grounds with
a variety of lunch fare. Stroll through the park, enjoy the art
and maybe take home your favorite piece of sculpture! This event
is free to the general public.
