Coleman Fine Art in Charleston, SC, Moves to New Location
Coleman Fine Art in Charleston, SC, launches the Fall season in a new location, 79 Church Street, reinvigorating one of the country's oldest art studios and continuing an extraordinary tradition. The new location, which was formerly the Elizabeth O'Neill Verner museum, is located at the corner of Church and Tradd Streets. The gallery will open in its new location on Oct. 3, 2002.
Both a fine art gallery and frame restoration studio, Coleman Fine Art has been representing regional and national artists for over 26 years. Currently the gallery represents eight different artists from around the country ranging in style and technique. Works of these eight featured artists will introduce you to the many sides of Charleston: Cityscapes that bask the area's trademark brand of light and color; vibrant watercolors that capture the fading ways of Gullah life; and haunting images of the lush, ever-changing coastal waterways. Artists represented include Mary Whyte, Earl B. Lewis, Jan Pawlowski, John Phillip Osborne, Kim Weiland, William P. Duffy, and John Murray.
Coleman Fine Art was founded by Smith B. Coleman in 1976, and has become a leader in the representation of contemporary American Impressionist and Realist artists. As a founding member of the Charleston Fine Art Dealers' Association, the gallery strives to select only artists that produce consistently high quality work while they continue to challenge themselves to grow artistically.
