Season of Harvest at Touchstone Gallery in Hendersonville, NC
Touchstone Gallery, in historic downtown Hendersonville, NC, is pleased to call attention to an exhibit of works currently on display and a trio of upcoming features at the gallery. Now on display is a new series of acrylic on wood paintings by Greenville, SC, artist Henry Mitchell. The new series, entitled Harvest, invites viewers to meet the Spirit of a summer spent in his garden!
Making her debut at Touchstone, Maxine Linney of Hendersonville, currently is offering two mixed media works on canvas as well as four works on paper. Linney, whose works are widely held in private and corporate collections, continues to be a featured artist at Summerhill Gallery in Chapel Hill. Touchstone is pleased to have been selected by Linney to be her "hometown" gallery representative.
Joanna Collier of Hendersonville is making her first professional appearance at Touchstone. Recently graduated from East Henderson High School, Collier offers the viewer a trio of clay sculptures representing the three phases of the feminine - Maiden, Mother, Crone. Coming at a later date, two additional pieces - Adam and Eve.
In early Sept., Touchstone will be featuring three new groups of work - mixed media on canvas by Richard Olson of Asheville, NC, water and mixed media works by Sue Connor of Little Rock, AR, and oil pastels by Christine Elder of Saluda, NC.
