Ashe County Arts Council Presents Studio Hop and More in West Jefferson, NC
The Ashe Arts Center in West Jefferson, NC, will be the site of Art on the Side while the Studio Hop features artists' studios throughout Ashe County.
On Sept. 27, 2003, from 10am until 5pm, the public will have an opportunity to travel Ashe County, visiting 19 artists in their working studios or to peruse the works of 16 artists who will be displaying their works on the lawn at the Ashe Arts Center. On Sept. 28, the artists' studios will be open again, from 1-5pm.
The studios will feature artists that are potters, painters, fiber artists, and jewelry makers. The Art on the Side will include photography, painting, clay scuplture, handmade baskets, and more.
The Ashe Arts Center, the little "stone
house" on the corner of School Avenue and Main Street in
downtown West Jefferson will serve as hospitality and information
center. Come by in the morning to the Arts Center, view the current
exhibit, African Safari, shop the displaying artists, pick up
a map, "hop" to the studios at your own speed and leave
enough time to come back by the Arts Center and have some refreshments.
The studios will be open on Sunday for more "hopping".
