Smith-Killian Fine Art in Charleston, SC, Hosts Works by the Blagden Family
The Blagden family of artists will be featured
in an exhibition entitled, Family Traditions, at Smith-Killian
Fine Art in Charleston, SC, from Sept. 26 through Oct. 10, 2003.
The exhibit presents works by Tom Blagden, Jr. of Charleston and
members of his family.
There is something magical about a family that shares the
same creative passion, especially if that passion is art. Each
family member is surrounded by support to explore without fear.
Smith-Killian Fine Art is excited to share an introspective look
of this experience with the public.
Many local art enthusiasts may recognize the name Tom Blagden, Jr. as a successful and admired photographer. Well, he is not alone. His two sisters, Anne and Irene, his brother Allen, and his father Tom Sr. are all painters. This family of artists have made names for themselves and are collected by some of the most respected museums and private collections in the country.
Tom Jr. may be the only Blagden to choose photography for his medium but he remains in the company of artistic genius. The work of each artist is quiet different, from almost satirical subject matter, to nature, and even venturing on abstraction. Each stands alone, but together it becomes a narrative in visual expression. Please join us for a chance to witness this special event.
