Weatherspoon Art Museum in Greensboro, NC, Offers UNC-G Art Faculty Exhibition
The 2003 UNC-G Department of Art Faculty Biennial will be on view through Oct. 19, 2003, at Weatherspoon Art Museum on the campus of University of North Carolina at Greensboro, in Greensboro, NC. Twenty-two current art faculty members will participate in the exhibition.
Works representing a broad range of conceptual ideas and artistic approaches include painting, sculpture, digital imagery, photography, and intermedia installation. Gallery talks by four participating faculty artists have been scheduled during the exhibition: Janet Oliver (Sept. 18 at 12:30pm); Mark Gottsegen (Sept. 24 at 12:30pm); Sharon Harper (Oct. 2 at 12:30pm); and Barbara Campbell (Oct. 8 at 12:30pm).
"Art faculty at UNC-G are first-rate professional artists who offer an exceptional range of artistic positions and viewpoints," said Pat Wasseboehr, Head of the UNC-G Department of Art. "All have received recognition in their art disciplines, exhibit actively throughout the United States, Asia and Europe, and have been recipients of numerous grants, residencies, honors, and awards in the arts. Faculty artists are pleased to showcase the best of their creative insights in this lively and comprehensive exhibition.
