Charleston Art Gallery & Portrait Studio in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Ray Hatfield

Journeys of the Mind, an exhibition of abstract, acrylics on canvas by Ray Hatfield, will be shown at Charleston Art Gallery & Portrait Studio in Charleston, SC, from Sept. 17 until Oct. 17, 2004.

Hatfield says that these recent works represent an expression of unfettered creativity for him. " While they emerge from the subconscious," Hatfield says, "still my basic thought and purpose as I paint is to create with color and shapes a composition that is pleasing to the eye."

"Visitors to the gallery will certainly find Ray's large canvases appealing," says gallery owner Cecile Langham Cothran, "and those famililar with Ray's work of several years ago will be excited by the new direction of his work. What he's doing is intriquing and, indeed, pleasing to the eye."
