Coleman Fine Art in Charleston, SC, Features Works by J. Kevin Foltz
Coleman Fine Art in Charleston, SC, is proud to present a series of visiting artist's exhibits. The series, NO BOUNDARIES, will introduce up and coming artists to the community and allow collectors to get to know them through small intimate exhibits. The second exhibit in the series will introduce 10 captivating portraits of photographer, J. Kevin Foltz. Through the lens of his camera he seeks out the mystery and compassion of the human spirit. The exhibit by Foltz entitled, Divine Souls, will be on view from Sept. 1 - 15, 2004.
Foltz, a South Carolina
native, has recently returned to the United States after working
in South America for eight years. The photographer, a graduate
of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, is involved in projects
that vary from expeditions in the Peruvian jungle to portraits
of established musicians like Ricardo Montaner in Buenos Aires.
His work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in North and
South America including the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale,
FL.
Foltz notes Henri Cartier-Bresson and Paul Strand as his major
influences. He strives to capture the 'decisive moment' of Cartier-Bresson
with a directness of Paul Strand in each of his photographs. The
artist currently divides his time between Miami, New York, and
Lima, Peru.
