Hand in Hand Gallery in Flat Rock, NC, Features Works by Cynthia L. Wilson
The Hand in Hand Gallery in Flat Rock, NC, is featuring the acrylic paintings of Cynthia L. Wilson from Hendersonville, NC, through Oct. 3, 2004.
Wilson was the recipient of the Glenn Bradshaw Award from the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic's 51st Exhibition held in New York in 2004. The painting, entitled, Meditation, is part of an ongoing series whose theme of floating leaves has been part of Wilson's work for twenty years. The theme is a metaphor for change and transcendence, and the way our lives connect with all of nature. Two other paintings from this series have been chosen for regional juried exhibitions in the past few months: Elements in the South Carolina Watercolor Exhibition, and Highlands Memory in the Spartanburg Museum of Art Biennial.
Wilson has been listed in Who's Who in American Art since 1992, and has had work represented in several books by Rockport Publishing as well as having been featured in Artists magazine. She has attained signature status in Pennsylvania and New England Watercolor Societies as well as National Association of Painters in Casein and Acrylic. Her work is in collections including the Housatonic Museum of Art, Georgia Tech, Fairfield University and the town of Westport, Connecticut.
Hand in Hand Gallery is proud to represent local artists and craftsmen whose work exemplifies integrity and vision. Molly Sharp and David Voorhees, who started the gallery in 1995, have expanded their space to better meet the needs of a growing and vibrant community of artists. Come visit their new location and see for yourself why Hand in Hand Gallery has become an important destination.
