Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawley's Island, SC, Features Works by Laura Edwards
The Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawley's Island, SC, will present an exhibit of oil paintings by abstract artist Laura Edwards from Sept. 17 through Oct. 8, 2005.
Born in Portsmouth, VA, Edwards grew up in Tidewater Virginia, trained as a painter at Barton College in Wilson, NC, and at the University of North Carolina in Asheville. Her work can be found in private and public collections nationally and internationally. This new body of work which includes seventeen works in oil never before shown has been described as "musical" and "atmospheric". Rich color and ethereal form are masterfully joined to offer viewers the opportunity to enjoy the sensations of non-objective art at its best.
