Hilton Head Custom Framing & Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition, titled Low Country Panorama of photographer of Ed Funk, well-known for his photographs appearing in several newspapers and magazines, most recently the Bluffton Breeze. The exhibit will be on view from Sept. 8 through Oct. 3, 2005.
Funk's love of photography shines through in
his depiction of the various scenes of the Low Country. He sees
objects, people, and places with a positive and studied eye. He
started out with a one dollar Kodak Brownie camera, purchased
at a flea market at age 13 and has branched out to the present
day, where he has transformed his hobby into a flourishing enterprise.
Imagine starting your professional career in the Graphic Arts
Industry and spending 33 years with Sun Chemical Corporation as
VP of R&D and VP of Sales and Marketing and upon retiring
being able to take one of your much loved hobbies, photography,
and sharing your love with others.
Funk is past President of the Hilton Head Camera Club, an organization he joined in 2000. He was converted to the digital camera in 2002 and is able to produce vibrant works, using his learned talents. He is also a member of the Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce, Beaufort Art Association, Society of Bluffton Artists, Hilton Head Art League, Photography Club of Beaufort and Lowcountry Civil war roundtable.
Funk's photography can be seen at the Hilton
Head Art League Gallery, Beaufort Art Association Gallery and
