Law Office of Richard M. Campbell, Jr. in Greenville, SC, Offers Works by William Hibbard
An exhibit
entitled, Serene, featuring a collection of paintings by
William Brian Hibbard, are on view through Sept. 30, 2005, at
the Law Office of Richard M. Campbell, Jr, in Greenville, SC.
Hibbard, a painter and sculptor, is a native of Greenville. He
received his bachelor of arts degree in fine arts from Winthrop
University and currently resides in Greensboro, NC.
As an up and coming artist in the Southeast, his artwork has been
featured in Southern Living magazine, and other publications.
His work as a sculptor can be seen in public art projects throughout
Greensboro, where the city has commissioned several pieces.
Hibbard's sculptural gate was recently installed at Greensboro's
new First Horizon Park baseball stadium, and he also worked as
a part of artist Jim Gallucci's team to create "Millennium
Gate", an 18-foot high bronze sculpture located in downtown
Greensboro. This gate is a significant work featuring 105 icons
of people, places, events, inventions, and ideas that affected
the citizens of Greensboro throughout its history. Hibbard's large-scale
works and murals also grace churches, public buildings, and homes
throughout the Southeast.
Hibbard is excited to bring his work back to his home-town of
Greenville with this exhibit, and he hopes to begin building an
audience base and a collectors market in the beloved place where
he had his first artistic experiences. He began his development
in the arts by attending the South Carolina Governor's School
for the Arts and Humanities and the Fine Arts Center in Greenville.
