Elder Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Jung Han Kim
Elder Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is presenting Jung Han Kim, Solo Exhibition, on view through Sept. 30, 2006. The exhibit will be Kim's first east coast solo exhibition.
SouthWest Art magazine recently named Jung Han Kim as one of their Top 21 Artists under the age of 31. His paintings have been described as "combining the classical Baroque technique of realistic painting with a contemporary impressionistic sensibility".
Kim was born in Seoul, Korea and earned a bachelor's degree in fine art from Seoul National University and a Masters of Fine Art degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In addition to painting he is a faculty member at the Academy of Art University.
"Jung is an accomplished artist who possesses tremendous natural talent. He continuously strives to improve his technique and is very adventuresome in his approach," says gallery owner Larry Elder. "In his fairly short time of painting he has already reached a level of mastery that many never achieve".
Elder Gallery's exhibit will feature numerous paintings of the San Francisco urban landscape along with Kim's figure paintings. In addition, a new series entitled, Store Window Reflections, will depict images of shoppers being reflected in store windows with mannequins and various items on display.
Kim's work was included in Elder Gallery's Emerging Artists 2006 exhibition which was held earlier this year.
