Spencer Art Galleries in Charleston, SC, Offer Several New Exhibitions
Spencer Art Galleries in Charleston, SC, will offer several new exhibitions including: Seventh Annual Artists Journeys Exhibit on view from Sept. 1 - 9, 2006, at Gallery I & II; Rivers of Light, featuring new works by Pat Forsberg, on view from Sept. 15 - 22, 2006, at Gallery I; and Passages, featuring new works by K.D. McMurray, on view from Sept. 15 - 22, 2006, at Gallery II.
"Many of the 35 artists exhibiting at Spencer's have traveled in the US and abroad this summer," says Jerry Spencer, gallery owner. "Travel affects an artist in many ways. Most return with a strong desire to paint their impressions of people, places and things they encountered. The result is very exciting, fresh, and immediate work."
Rivers of Light features new works by Pat Forsberg. She says "I have always keyed on the play of light and shadow in my work. As I mature in my work, this play of light and shadow becomes paramount."
Passages features new works by K. D. McMurray. "Life is a journey, filled with many windows of opportunity and doors of change", McMurray says. "We all travel different paths on our passage through life. My current work deals with these passages."
