Asheville Area Arts Council in Asheville, NC, Offers National Juried Exhibition
Asheville Area Arts Council in Asheville, NC,
will present the exhibit, Boundaries, the 3rd annual national
juried art exhibition, on view in AAAC's Front Gallery from Sept.
7 - 28, 2007. The theme, Boundaries, lends itself to interpretation:
literal or more conceptual and ethereal.
The juror for 2007, from Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, by way of
Nashville, TN, is Daniel Lai. Lai's impact on the budding
and vibrant visual arts in Nashville is noted by that community.
Curator of Dangenart Gallery, Lai earned his gallery the title
of Nashville's Best New Gallery and is also the founder of Art
at the Arcade - the only art colony in Nashville, TN. As the most
sought after contemporary art advocate and juror in Nashville,
and also a working artist, the AAAC is honored to host Lai as
the juror of Boundaries.
The AAAC galleries exclusively support established and emerging artists residing in Buncombe County. An exception is made once a year with the annual juried exhibition when a call to artists is sent to galleries, individual artists, academic art departments, arts councils and museums across the country.
