The Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island, SC, Features Works by Mike Williams
The Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island, SC, will present a fall exhibition of new works by South Carolina artist Mike Williams, on view from Sept. 8 through Oct. 6, 2007.
The show will feature twenty paintings showcasing the two primary subjects for which Williams has become so well known; semi-abstract lowcountry landscapes and his high energy "fish paintings". The Sumter native has distinguished himself and received much acclaim for his paintings which balance on the threshold between representational and abstract art. His predominant themes derive from nature and his love of the outdoors. For this show, Williams has created works in a variety of sizes ranging from seven feet by four feet, to seven inches by eight inches.
