The Haen Gallery in Asheville, NC, Features Works by GC Myers
The Haen Gallery, located in downtown Asheville, NC, will present an exhibition of new work by GC Myers entitled, In Quiet Places. The exhibition will open on Sept. 6 and continue through Oct. 9, 2007.
Myers is a self-taught artist whose vibrant paintings really entice the viewer. His landscapes are compositionally dynamic and true studies in the juxtaposition of bright complimentary colors. Myers populates these natural scenes with his whimsical take on trees, suns, moons, rolling hills, glittering lakes, and pathways inviting one to enter his world.
Myers was born, raised, and currently lives in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. His work is widely collected and has been shown at the Principle Gallery in Alexandria, VA, the KADA gallery in Eerie, PA, and the West End Gallery in Corning, NY. Since his first show at the Haen Gallery last year, Myers's work has been consistently shown in Asheville and consequently brought along a devoted following.
In Quiet Places is a presentation of Myers's latest body of work, a series of works devoted to finding one's sanctuary and peace in a world fettered with stress and turmoil.
