Preservation Society of Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, NC, Features Works by Marcella Morgese
The Preservation Society of Chapel Hill will present an exhibition of recent works by Marcella Morgese at the Horace Williams House in Chapel Hill, NC. The exhibit of wall relief steel sculptures will be on view from Sept. 23 through Oct. 21, 2007.
Morgese creates abstract sculpture by intricately welding steel remnants, wire, cable, and found objects. The work embodies a sense of movement using curved linear steel countering solid textural forms. Morgese studied Graphic Design at the School of Visual Design in New York City and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Alfred University, Alfred, NY. She has had solo exhibitions at galleries in Washington, DC, and Boston and participated as part of group exhibitions in Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts. Morgese's work is also in corporate and private collections throughout the US. She currently lives in Knoxville, MD.
