Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet,
SC, Features Works by SC Watermedia Society
Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC, is partnering with SC Watermedia Society to exhibit 2-D and 3-D art with two exhibitions on view from Sept. 6 through Nov. 2, 2008. The two new exhibits will be on display at Brookgreen Gardens' Rainey Sculpture Pavilion. Both exhibits are in conjunction with the South Carolina Watermedia Society's 31st Annual Exhibition on view at the Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC, from Oct. 25 through Dec. 31, 2008.
The exhibit Heroes and Hoof Beats: The Horse in Art, on view in the Noble Gallery and Flights of Fantasy: The Artistic Bird, on view in the Jennewein Gallery will present sculpture from the incomparable Brookgreen collection plus a marvelous selection of borrowed sculpture along with exciting paintings in acrylic, watercolor, and pastel created to reflect the exhibit themes. Among the exhibiting artists are Watermedia Society members from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Brookgreen Gardens is a non-profit corporation and a National Historic Landmark located on US 17 between Myrtle Beach and Pawleys Island, SC.
