The Center for Visual Artist in Greensboro, NC, Features Works by Karen Tury Cecil

The Center for Visual Artist (CVA) in Greensboro, NC, will present the exhibit, Ethereal Light, featuring new works by Greensboro artist Karen Tury Cecil, on view from Sept. 5 - Oct. 10, 2008.

Cecil is the winner of the CVA 2007 All Member Juried Exhibition. Her photographic work is known, not only for the way it captures light, but also for the way that it can captivate the viewer. Primarily, she has worked in black and white, but in this exhibition she ventures to use color in ways that range from the subtle, to the dramatic.  In each instance, Cecil's work reflects the delicate, tenuous nature of light, and light's relationship to the moments it reveals.

"We're really excited about this show, Karen always produces amazing work, but are really blown away by her new images," stated Derrick Sides, Executive Director of the CVA. "We work to provide a space where artists can step outside of their comfort zones and Karen has really done that with these photographs. I see this exhibition as being a creative turning point in her career and we're just honored be able to host this show."

The Center for Visual Artists is a comprehensive art education center that strives to promote the advancement and development of visual art through education, exhibition opportunities and community outreach.  Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
