NC, Features Works by James Rosati
Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, will present the exhibit, JAMES ROSATI: Simple Line, Complex Form. The exhibition of sculpture and works on paper by Rosati, one of America's most accomplished mid-20th century sculptors will be on view from Sept. 13 through Nov. 1, 2008. He was a charter member of the Eighth Street Club and the New York School of abstract expressionists.
Rosati is perhaps best known for his sculptures of large blockish forms combined in elegant relationships. About forty monumental pieces of sculpture are located in the United States and abroad, including works commissioned for the National Gallery of Art, the World Trade Center and, closer to home, a 16 foot tall stainless steel sculpture in front of the Charlotte Plaza office tower.
