Upstairs Artspace in Tryon, NC, Presents
Major Sculpture Show
The Upstairs Artspace in Tryon, NC, is proud to present the exhibition, Space Shifters: Mountain Sculptors 2008, on view through Oct. 4, 2008. This exciting exhibition features works by 20 well-known, mid-career sculptors from the western Carolinas working in metal, wood, marble, fabric, glass, concrete and mixed media. The sculpture ranges from small wall pieces to sizable free-standing forms; from sleek, elegant minimalism to funky "found object" art.
The artists are Ralph Berger, Barron Brown, Marty Cain, Richard Conn, Elizabeth Franklin, Len Fury, Dan Howachyn, Ina, Larry King, Harry McDaniel, Dale McEntire, Catherine Murray, Joseph Race, John Richards, Ila Seltzer, Ripp Smith, Julia Stout, Tekla, Martin Webster, Robert Winkler. All are members of an association called Mountain Sculptors that meets monthly to discuss art and community and critique individual work.
