Asheville Gallery of Art Shows Works by Paul Koenen
The Asheville Gallery of Art, in downtown Asheville, NC, Artist-of-the-Month for July is Paul Koenen, a watercolor artist from Saluda, NC.
Koenen, a former graphic artist and art director in Chicago has lived and painted in North Carolina for the last 12 years. He paints in a traditional watercolor style, using transparent pigments and making use of the white of the paper. He studied painting with Ivan Wilson of Western Kentucky University and Irving Shapiro at the American Academy of Art in Chicago.
The exhibit runs through the month of July. The Asheville Gallery of Art is a cooperative gallery representing 22 regional artists.
