- Asheville Gallery of Art, Asheville, NC, Artist-of-the-Month
for June is Asheville artist Pauline Tennant.
Tennant has worked in art in New York City, Athens, GA, and in
Asheville, where she also has taught in private and public schools.
When working on her BFA degree at the University of NC in Asheville
she concentrated on linocut printmaking, this is now her primary
medium.
In juried exhibitions Tennant has won awards on the local, regional,
national and international levels. Her work can be found in private
and corporate collections. She was a recipient of the 1995-96
Emerging Artist Grant. She was one of the founding members of
the Asheville Gallery of Art, and currently serves as its president.
Asheville Gallery of Art is a cooperative gallery representing
22 regional artists in downtown Asheville.
