Works by Lonnie Long at the Greensboro Artists' League Gallery

The Greensboro Artists' League (GAL) in NC is pleased to announce a one-man exhibition of the paintings, mixed-media work, and installations of artist Lonnie Long. The exhibit gravitas/graven images will be on display at the GAL gallery through Nov.12.

Figuring often in Long's work are altarpieces and other religious references, and he paints in the painstaking fashion of Renaissance painters. Yet his work results in an oeuvre with a thoroughly modern flair. His mixed-media work and installations feature a similar mixture of timeless and contemporary imagery, resulting in quirky and sometimes ironic statements.

The Greensboro Artists' League is a non-profit organization which supports and showcases established and emerging artists within the Piedmont Triad. GAL is a funded member of the United Arts Council. The United Arts Council works to improve the quality and accessibility of the arts through its financial and administrative support of 14 local arts organizations.

For further information check our NC Institutional Gallery listings or call the gallery at 336/333-7485.
