14th Annual Sculpture Competition in Lenoir, NC
The Caldwell Arts Council will hold its 14th Annual Sculpture Celebration on Fri. and Sat., Sept. 10 & 11 at the J.E. Broyhill Park in uptown Lenoir, NC. This year the Caldwell Arts Council will be joined by the Tri-State Sculptors Association in organizing the event. The sculpture celebration offers over $13,OOO in purchases and awards to sculptors. The public is invited to attend this exhibition and sale of sculpture free of charge. On Sat., food and beverages will be available for sale throughout the day and live musical performances will accompany the exhibition.
Sculptors may enter two works, indoor or outdoor sculpture in this non-juried competition. Every effort is made to attract both private and corporate buyers, no commission is taken by the sponsors in the event of sales. A $30 pre-registration fee enables each sculptor to submit two pieces of original work for judging, and to have supper on Fri., Sept. 10, with other participants, followed by slides and discussion of works. On site registration is also available for an additional $10. In addition to local commercial lodging, outdoor camping, with showers and full bathroom facilities, is available at no charge.
This year's judge is John Henry from Kentucky. Henry is most known for his large, monumental, outdoor pieces, primarily designed and commissioned for public spaces. Henry has received international recognition with selected exhibitions, awards and commissions.

The exhibit will open at 9am on Sat., and musical performances will begin at 10am. At 3pm the judge will present awards, followed by the judge's walking tour of winners.
