Barbara White Featured at Stokes County Arts Council Gallery in Danbury
The Stokes County Arts Council, located in Danbury, NC, is proud to announce an exhibit of watercolor and acrylic paintings by Barbara White. White is a favorite exhibitor in Stokes County due to the past recognition she received from her winning entry of Hanging Rock in the 1995 Landmark Print Competition. She is well known for her delightful and affordable paintings which have led her to have an enormous following by individuals interested in her career.
"Barbara really puts us to work typing her mailing list. I think she has the longest address list for her invitations of any artist that exhibits here!" says SCAC executive director, Cindy Tuttle. "We are happy to accommodate her since she always has excellent attendance at her receptions and people really seem to enjoy her work."
White now lives in Winston-Salem, NC, with her husband Jeff after living in Germanton, NC, for a number of years. After twenty-one years of service with the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem, she retired and began to study oils at Forsyth Tech. Later, she switched to acrylics and studied under Daphne Chipman. In 1995, she had the opportunity to study with renowned artist, Heiner Hertling. White has also taken classes with local artist Kathy Cooper and attended a watercolor class at Forsyth Tech with Marilyn Cox.
White is a very active volunteer with SCAC. She participates on the Dan River Artmarket committee and the visual arts committee. She has work for sale at both the Danbury and King sites of the Dan River Artmarket and regularly volunteers her time to work at the Danbury site on the weekends. White volunteers her time for many other SCAC functions including the Annual Art Auction.
