Editors Note: I just realized I forgot to post the May 2020 issue here, so the June post is after this one – no way to get it back in the right place. My bad. May was a difficult month and June so far is n better.
The May 2020 issue of “Carolina Arts” is up on our website at (http://www.carolinaarts.com/520/520carolinaarts.html) – all 48 pages of it. That’s 2 pages less than last month’s issue – still Pandemic!
I was hoping that some artist would offer an image of the brave health care workers, but it didn’t appear, but we got something just as good – an image by Corrie McCallum, the other half of the Halsey/McCallum team. They were Charleston’s dynamic artistic duo. They both received the Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Award, SC’s highest award in the arts. I was lucky to get to know them both and enjoy their experiences of the visual art community in Charleston and South Carolina.
So download that PDF and dig in – it makes for good reading when you’re ordered to stay at home. And, don’t forget to find a way to thank our advertisers – they make this publication possible. Visiting their websites would be a way to start, you might be surprised what you’ll find there. You might even want to buy something you find there.
And help us spread this issue around by sending this link to your friends.
Don’t forget that the deadline for our June 2020 issue will be May 24 at 5pm. Yes, we will continue to publish “Carolina Arts” so we can all get through this together. Send us info about what you’re doing during these trying times so we can look a lot better than we did this month.
Thanks – Tom and Linda Starland
