Woolworth Walk in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Severn Eaton

Woolworth Walk in Asheville, NC, will present the exhibit, Juicy: New Works by Severn Eaton, on view in the FW Front Gallery from June 1-29, 2011. A reception will be held on June 3, from 5-7pm.

A native of North Carolina, Eaton has taken his life and work in a number of different directions, but art has always provided a solid framework for his thoughts and ideas. Whether through sculpture, painting, an outdoor environment, or construction, his work is a means of exploring and questioning the world around us.

Eaton has studied fine art at Appalachian State University and UNC-Chapel Hill, and has traveled through Europe and the Middle East, all of which have been important to the development of his work. He is unique in holding the title of both Insider and Outsider Artist in the Art World, and has recently achieved the rank of Visionary Artist from the Bureau of Visionary Artists. Eaton’s work is also considered to be representative of postmodern folk, post-conceptual neo-cloisonnism, neo-postsynthetism, surrealovorticism, pop-post-pop, no-brow and many others.
