Needham was born Sept. 14, 1955 in Winston-Salem, NC. In high school he would draw elaborate hot rod cars and trucks. He continued drawing on napkins, envelopes, and paper scraps every chance he got. Needham’s drawings quickly evolved into fantastic intricate works of art.

In 1994, Needham joined Signature Studio XI in Morganton. His artwork flourished in this creative environment. In 2000, Needham left Morganton to have his own studio in the Arts District of Winston-Salem. He currently maintains a studio in the Artists on Liberty Building at 521 N. Liberty Street.

Needham paints worlds where crime does not exist and people of all races love each other equally. His complex multi-layered paintings portray scenes where cars fly, toilets race through the air, carnivals abound, and people are free to walk around naked whenever they choose.

Needham’s hobbies include collecting antique toys and playing the piano. As an artist his goal is to promote peace, harmony, respect and happiness as he searches for his perfect world.
