At The Bridge
Gallery on Folly Beach, SC, Features Works by Tyler Blanton and
R.T. Shepherd
At The Bridge Gallery on Folly Beach, SC, will present the exhibit, Over the Edge, featuring works by Tyler Blanton and R.T. Shepherd, on view from Oct. 17 through Nov. 30, 2009.
Tyler Blanton holds a BA from Smith and an MA from NYU, studied art in Scotland and Venice. This young lady is a pure art form - in thought, speech, and physical presence. Her career as a ballerina for the School of American Ballet, makes one aware of a grace in the sweep of her arms while discussing her art. Intelligent and thought provoking, symbolizing war, peace, nature, spirituality, the environment. Using a variety of mediums and techniques, wonder overcomes at her exquisite taste, detail, structure and message in each powerful piece. Tyler is well known internationally, she holds four awards and merits from Spoleto alone. Share the evening with her and marvel at the work. This gallery says take heed, remember her name, you will be glad you did.
RT Shepherd has graciously
accepted a return performance at At the Bridge Gallery. Last year
he astounded and floored his many followers with the show, Drawn
to Adagios. Now he is taking us over the edge! His work is
an array of mediums, delightful "objects", portraits
in lead. Free thinking, illustrious, unlimited to words - it's
more of a "how" rather than a "why". Shepherd
brings focus to the mysteries of our every day world. Small things
we may find insignificant, pop with joy and profound empathy when
he makes them his own. Pages of a burnt love letter, found in
a parking lot, nurtured to life with paint and frame. The artist
is telling us, yes,
this! This is life intermingling with art and you must not ignore
the beauty of the experience! Smart collectors have the foresight
to know he will emerge as one of the most important artists of
Charleston.
