Furman University
in Greenville, SC, Features Works by David Hendren and Andy Gambrell

Furman University in Greenville, SC, will present the exhibit, Modern Static, featuring works by David Hendren and Andy Gambrell, on view from Oct. 12 through Nov. 13, 2009, in the Thompson Gallery, located in the Thomas Roe Art Building. The exhibit features two mediums - sculptures and paintings. David Hendren produced sculptures that drew inspiration from architecture as well as the early 20th century constructivist and futurist movements. Andy Gambrell's work features paintings.
David Hendren
Hendren received the Tom Devon Fellowship in 2008 and his artwork was shown in several galleries in Michigan. Gambrell's career began with his study in Greenville's Governor's School for the Arts and later Furman. Gambrell has held a number of positions, including director of galleries at the University of Miami, and head of art history at Elizabeth City State University.
