Hamlet Fine
Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Fern Loos Beu
Hamlet Fine Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, will present the exhibit, Southern Impressions, featuring works by Fern Loos Beu, an emerging artist from the Washington, DC, area, on view from Oct. 2 - 31, 2009.
Painting as a contemporary realist, Beu's figurative and portrait work capture not only a likeness, but her subjects' spirits and often, their unique stories. Her landscapes are similarly evocative and personal, most often painted from everyday sites, transforming the mundane into the beautiful.
Beu graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University in 1980 and has spent 29 years working as a psychotherapist in the Washington, DC, area. She has had several solo art exhibits in Bethesda, MD, along with an exhibit at Artomatic in Washington, DC. She has studied with renown painters David Leffel and Abigail McBride.
